88 Tips for Teaching Reading Effectively
Become an Expert in Teaching Reading

“Opening a good book is like opening a world.” Reading is not only a foundation of learning for every person, but an important tool to obtain knowledge.

“Teaching reading” is an important area in the teaching of English. All types of exams in Taiwan are based on reading. With testing leading education, reading activities are then the center of English teaching. Teachers long to learn the strategies and skills in reading.

This book includes chapters in “Reading Theories,” “Practical Lesson Plans,” “Reading Activities,” and “Reading Evaluations” and presents step to step examples of pre-reading, during reading, and after reading methods. Reading is not only limited to reading textbooks, but includes more common things like magazines, letters, stories, chants and rhymes, comics, jokes, brain teasers, … etc. The 88 vivid teaching examples present how these different types of readings may be used in the classroom.

Help students learn effectively and joyously is the goal for every teacher. The 88 examples in the book use methods of thinking students are familiar with and help categorize, organize, and comprehend knowledge so that we can reach the goal of using reading to see the world.

"Reading Magic" is a reference book that can quickly increase skills in teaching reading, includes both theories and practice, and includes presentation of classes in English, useful for both new and experienced teachers. This book includes:
